Legend has it that street guardrails, shaped like upside-down cannons, began in the 17th century and were used as border Settings and city signs. Since then, they appear more and more in our daily life, and can be seen everywhere, such as supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, shops and sports stadiums. We can often see bollards in various forms, either to indicate the direction of travel, or to protect us from injury, or to tell us whether to stop here. These beautifully shaped bollards beautify the environment, distinguish the sidewalk from the roadway, and sometimes even serve as chairs for us to sit down and enjoy our lunch.
Fixed metal bollards are the most common. They are generally about 36 high painted steel columns, filled with cement and mounted on the ground. Some bollards are rectangular, but most are cylindrical, with angled or flat brims. The bollards come in a wide variety of sizes, colors, textures, shapes and functions. They can be fixed, removable, retractable or used as an ornament to complement the original steel bollards.
Many bollards have aesthetic features, particularly metal bollards, which are used to prevent vehicle damage to pedestrians and buildings, as a simple way to control access, or as guardrails to delineate specific areas. They can be anchored to the ground individually or arranged in a line to keep the road safe from traffic. Metal barriers fixed to the ground act as permanent fences, while retractable and movable barriers allow the entry of certified crowd vehicles.
I. Application of bollards
Bollards are mainly used in three aspects: architecture (decoration), safety (impact resistance) and landscaping (perimeter prominent). All bollards can be architecturally and landscapingly common, differing only in style, shape and material. When it comes to security applications, different bollards are used to block different objects. For example, bollards used to stop traffic are different from bollards used to deal with protection (impact) issues. When it comes to safety applications, the size of the vehicle and the speed of the vehicle at the time of impact should be considered first.
Ii. Style of bollards
After many years of application, the bollards have been extended in various forms. It is mainly divided into the following categories:
(1) Pneumatic automatic lift column: air as a driving medium, through the external pneumatic power unit, drive the cylinder to rise and fall.
(2) Hydraulic automatic lifting column: hydraulic oil as the driving medium. There are two modes of control, namely the external hydraulic power unit (the drive part is separated from the cylinder) or the internal hydraulic power unit (the drive part is placed inside the cylinder) to drive the cylinder up and down.
(3) Electromechanical automatic lifting: the cylinder body through the internal motor drive cylinder lifting.
Semi-automatic lifting column: the ascending process is driven by the power unit built into the cylinder, and the descending process is completed by manpower.
(4) pull type lifting column: the process of lifting needs manpower to pull complete, rely on the weight of the column when falling.
(5) Movable lifting column: the column body and the base part are designed separately, and can be folded up when the column body does not need to play a control role.
Fixed column: The column is fixed directly with the road surface.
3. Occasions of use
The main use occasions, advantages and disadvantages of each type of cylinder are different, and the selection should be based on the actual project.
For some applications with high security level, such as military bases, prisons, etc., anti-terror level elevations should be used.
Compared with the general civil class elevations, the thickness of the columns generally needs to reach more than 12mm, while the general civil class elevations are 3-6mm. In addition, installation requirements vary. At present, there are two international certification standards for high-security anti-terrorist lifting road piles: 1. British PAS68 certification (with PAS69 installation standards); 2. Second, THE United States Department of Foreign Affairs security DOS certification. The 7.5T truck hit at 80KM/H. The truck was stopped in place and the roadblock (lift column, road pile) worked as usual.
For the civil class lifting column, although the performance is slightly worse than the level of fear prevention lifting column, but its protection performance can fully meet the needs of civil security, in daily life frequently used.
Suitable for vehicle access control places with large traffic flow and medium safety requirements. It can be widely used in Banks, government offices, r&d centers, power stations, expressways, industrial parks, high-end villas, high-end office buildings, luxury stores, pedestrian streets and other places.
With the strengthening of domestic anti-terrorism situation, the protection of sensitive areas of buildings is particularly important. Because of its safety, beauty and many other advantages, lifting column is being accepted by more and more users. However, the practice of elevator products entering The Chinese market is relatively short, and the market accumulation and feedback are few, while the demand suddenly expands. Causes the product on the market fish and fish jumble, the product which passes for the genuine is common occurrence. A large number of users and integrators have become the victims of some unscrupulous merchants.
